A toasted everything bagel stacked with a folded fried egg and melty cheddar for a classic American breakfast sandwich you can build in under ten minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 everything bagel
- 2 large eggs
- 1 oz cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp unsalted butter
- 1 pinch black pepper
Instructions
- Slice the everything bagel and toast it until golden and crisp at the edges while you cook the eggs.
- Melt the butter in a small nonstick skillet over medium heat, crack in the eggs, and season with black pepper. Cook for about 2 minutes until the whites are set.
- Break the yolks lightly with the spatula and fold each egg in half to fit the bagel, then lay the cheddar over the eggs and let it melt for about 1 minute over low heat.
- Slide the cheesy folded eggs onto the bottom bagel half, close with the top half, and press gently so the sandwich holds together.
